Bliss S lon
Bliss Salon started with wanting more from the industry of hairdressing. For so long, attitude and ego were the dominate traits in so many Salons. Stylists drifted from what a trip to the salon was supposed to be.
Knowing this, we focused on what we wanted hairdressing to be - connecting client and stylist through clear communications, great customer service, and the passion needed to give the best haircut possible.
These qualities are what continue to seperate us in our market, one experience at a time.

WHERE DO YOU LEAVE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT?
Bliss opened its doors in 2001 under the enthusiastic direction of owners Kim and Rich Cutting. Kim, a third generation hairstylist, initiated Bliss with three hairdressers in a modest 800 square foot area. Its visual appeal, combined with the Kims persistent goal of high client satisfaction, has resulted in a Bliss expansion to nearly 3,000 square feet, and sixteen employees. Kim firmly believes that an integral part of success in the industry is due to continued stylist education. To that end, Bliss stylists are provided opportunity to attend classes in New York City under the auspices of Bumble & bumble. Classes are also offered by Goldwell of New England in Holliston, MA or Baltimore, MD. Such an enlightened approach has resulted in a team of dedicated professionals a team which offers superb service and a vibrant, focused atmosphere.

Inspirations : My surroundings and passions from other people. Learning something new. All of it inspires me and makes me want to be a better stylist.
Worst Hair Moment : When I was 19 a fellow employee at another salon was supposed to give me blonde highlights, but decided on her own that I would look better with chunky red/copper highlights. I didn't realize the color until I got home and styled it. It was not pretty at all.
Favorite Song : "Don't Stop Believin' " by Journey
Favorite Product : Oribe's Creme For Style. It's great for all hair types. For fine hair it gives more volume, for dry hair it gives more moisture and for curly hair it defrizzes and accents the curls.

Worst Hair Moment : I was 8. My uncle Tony was a barber for a short time and gave me a haircut that resembled a giant mushroom. I was mortified.
Favorite Song : "Mushaboom" by Feist
Favorite Product : My favorite product is Prep by Bumble and bumble. I NEED it for my hair if I wasnt to do any style. It's just the right amount of conditioning.
One Style That Is "Out" That You Wish Was "In" : I wish 80's hair was in, except a bit more polished and minus the perms.

An act of kindness, art supplies, the colors in my garden and great architecture. A well designed room and the people I work beside everyday here at Bliss.
Worst Hair Moment : When pigtails and pigtail buns were "cute". I tried pigtail buns one night for an event. My hair wasn't long enough to make buns so I decided to curl the hair under and pin it. The pins did not hold and my friend didn't tell me. When I developed the photos, I saw that I had walked aroung all evening with what looked like tiny umbrellas on my head.

I am so glad that I found Bliss! Aside from the fact that the salon is beautiful, Lauren is an awesome stylist!
It's nice to have found someone that knows how dark hair lightens and how to cut thick hair. My hair has looked fabulous every time.
I look forward to my appointments because I get exactly the color that I want, along with great service from all of the staff, including the front desk.
Kudos to the owner, Lauren, and all the staff for a well run and talented salon.

My experience at Bliss was well - Bliss. The atmosphere was relaxing and calm. The staff was extremely patience, taking the time to explain the process while maintaining a professionalism that gave me the confidence to go from blonde to very dark brown. From the woman who greeted me at the reception desk, to the colorists, the woman who blew out my hair my experience was fantastic! I cannot wait for my next appointment.

I loved Bliss. Everyone was so nice and friendly. I felt that Gil really listened to what I was looking for in a new cut as well as how much time I have to spend on my hair. I felt there was a personal touch from the minute I walked into the Salon until I left.

My experience at Bliss was wonderful! Jess did my cut and color and she did a fantastic job. I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted (a new style) and she was able to create a great style for me! She was even able to match my existing color (with the color done by my previous stylist. Jess was personable, professional, and a great stylist/colorist! I have already recommended Bliss Salon to my family in the area.

The following is a response to an e-mail survey:
Do you use hair products regularly? Yes, If so what brand? Pantene (well not any more - Jess helped me de-wax my hair)
How did your experience at Bliss Salon compare to your previous salon? Bliss is so far superior I cannot even believe it.
Jess is a stylist / colorist that I trust completely. She is a caring and gifted professional who clearly puts the customer above all else. The salon is so beautiful. I found the atmosphere to be low pressure and relaxing. Best decision I have made for myself in
a long time.

Gil is fun and energetic and I absolutely love getting my hair cut by him. I never feel rushed and he always takes the time to make sure my cut is perfect before I get out of the chair. I have received numerous compliments on my hair cut and I am
always happy to refer Gil at Bliss Salon!
Thanks!

How did your experience at Bliss Salon compare to your previous salon? No comparison, I was truly impressed not only by the energy in the Salon & the appearance but mostly because the stylists were always smiling, enjoying themselves, acted professionally and paid attention to the clients. What I was really impressed by was the fact that the stylist sat down and discussed my hair with me face to face and the end result was exactly what I wanted. One of the biggest mistakes I see is
the stylist never really listens to what the person is trying to accomplish, or they're too busy chatting with the other stylists and not paying attention to your hair. I appreciated the suggestions and knowledge that also came from the discussion because I also want to hear what a professional thinks would be best and clarifying that what I was saying was what they "heard". I found the salon unique in its approach and can see that the stylists are carefully selected and there is a uniformity in how the Salon functions as a whole which makes me feel more confident and trusting. Honestly I've been to fancy salons, small independent salons, mall salons and I never really enjoyed sitting somewhere for 2+ hours (due to getting my hair foiled) and I can say that I didn't mind the time I spent and look forward to returning. I've also told everyone how much I like the salon and hopefully they will see for themselves.

Bliss!
My family and I just moved to Marblehead from Ohio. Learning my way around, I was really worried about finding a salon
that I could trust and would not break the bank. It is also very hard for me to break away from my kiddos and husband and not feel guilty about taking some much needed time for myself! I asked a friend where she went and she referred me to your Salon and highly recommended Jen Sandler. I had a great experience. She consulted with me before my cut and I walked out of your Salon feeling beautiful and was pleasantly surprised with the cost and the short time it took out of my busy schedule. My experience was great! I really appreciate Jen's honesty and professionalism. I loved my salon prior to our move so meeting my expectations could have been a challenge but I was greatly surprised and happy! THANK YOU!

I was there on Saturday the 6th and I just wanted to say that Gil did an amazing job on my hair! He went above and beyond what I asked for while still listening to what I said and wanted. I love the new style he gave me and it looks great.
I never would have even tried this cut before, but I am so glad I did!! Please give my praises to Gil! I will be back for a trim in due time!!!
